Admission to the Master’s program
Applicants for the admission to the Master’s degree 2 must pass entrance exams – a
foreign language and specialty. The entrance exam in a foreign language (English, French,
German) for your choice in the form of testing of the National Center for State Education
Standards and Testing of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The format of the exam in a foreign language.
A comprehensive test of foreign languages is based on the international TOEFL test,
PET, FCE (English), DELF (French) and the Zertifikat Deutsch (German) and is designed to
evaluate proficiency in one of these languages, it determines the level of communicative abilities
in listening and reading, and also speaking proficiency (lexical and grammatical test). All test
items are represented in a closed form. Each test requires a multiple choice of a correct answer
from five proposed options.
Average time for one task: 1-2 minutes.
The test contains – 100 tasks.
Testing time – 155 minutes.
The test consists of 3 parts.
Part 1 – Listening. Audio for listening from a compact disc is used for the first part of the
test. The compact disc contains 4 texts: each text is repeated after a short pause. Each text test
item is in the book-questionnaire, checking applicants listening comprehension. Listening test
contains 20 tasks. Time – 45 minutes.
Part 2 – Lexical and grammatical test. Lexical and grammatical test consists of tests,
checking the level of knowledge of grammar and lexicology. Lexical and grammatical test
consists of 50 tasks. Time – 75 minutes.
Part 3 – Reading. The test consists of texts and test tasks for them, checking
comprehension of the content of texts. Reading test comprises 30 tasks. Time – 60 minutes.
The minimum passing grade for the entrance exam in a foreign language – 50 points.
*Note. Language certificates
Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a certificate of passing a test in a foreign
language (English, French, German) of the program:
TOEFL ITP, TOEFL – a threshold score of at least 560 (Test of English as a Foreign
Language, Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional);
IELTS – the threshold score of at least 6.0 (Testing Programm International English
Language Tests System);
Grundbaustein DaF – a threshold point – C 1;
DSH – a threshold score of 1 (Deutsche Sprachprfung fur den Hochschulzugang);
DELF – threshold score is 2 (Diplome d’Etudes en Langue français);
DALF – a threshold score of 1 (Diplome Approfondi de Langue français);
TCF – a threshold score of at least 400 (the TEST de connaisances de français)
* These applicants are exempted from entrance examination in a foreign language to the
Undergraduates who successfully pass (50 points or more) in the entrance exam in a
foreign language are admitted to the second entrance exam in the specialty.
At the time of entrance exams to master’s program, the admission commission is
summoned. The specialties are the following:
Accounting and Auditing
Entrance examinations to magistracy held from 10 until 20 August, enrollment – 30
August of the current year. Applicants, submit the following documents to the Admissions
Office of the University:
• application of a special form (given by the admission committee);
• a copy of the document on higher education with the application;
• a copy of the certificate of entitlement to exemption from the entrance examination in a
foreign language (if available)
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL, threshold point – not less than 560);
IELTS, threshold point – not less than 6.0;
Grundbaustein DaF (threshold score – C 1;
DSN, threshold point – C 1;
DELF, threshold point – in 2;
DALF, threshold point – C 1;
TCF, threshold point – at least – 400;
• personnel file and a copy of the document confirming length (years) of service (for
those with work experience);
• a copy of the work-record card (for employed persons);
• six photos 3×4;
• a medical certificate form number 086;
• copy of identity card;
• a list of scientific and scientific-methodical works, certified by the scientific secretary;
• registration certificate
copies of copyright certificates, certificates, diplomas, etc. (if you have ).
Applicants must also provide originals for verification to the Admissions Office. After
the procedure of verification , originals are returned to applicants.
