University of International Business successfully hosted the “2017 UIB-Finland Science and Research Week”. Over 80 doctoral students and academic staffs from 10 universities participated at the week. Professor Maria Elo from Turku School of Economics, University of Turku, Dr. Igor Laine from School of Business and Management, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland and UIB’s Vice Rector for Science and Research Prof. Dr. Xiaotian Zhang co-hosted this event. President of UIB Prof. Dr. Ahmed-Zaki Darkhan welcomed guests and discussed possibilities of forming cross-national cooperation with Finnish universities and Scandinavia partners. President Darkhan also discussed with foreign professors on issues of reforming and developing new scientific journals among other topics.

UIB-Finland Science & Research Week is a collection of scientific and research activities in the field of economics, business and management studies. By bringing in the most distinguished and internationally well-known scholars to Kazakhstan, this week of events aims at promoting scientific research among young academics and improving research competences of Kazakhstani universities in general.

The week is co-organized by the University of International Business (UIB) and Finnish partner universities. Various events will take place during the week, PhD courses, research seminars, brainstorming and experience-sharing meetings, paper development workshops and a cocktail networking event.

The week is coordinated by UIB Scientific Process Office and is financially sponsored by the Research Council of UIB and Jean Monnet Activities within the European Union Erasmus+ programme.
