University of International Business (UIB) was invited to attend the “2017 Pujiang Innovation Forum” in Shanghai China, the leading innovation forum in Asia. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Xiaotian Zhang represented UIB and participated at the forum. He shared thoughts on forming cooperation among universities from One Belt and One Road countries.

Among 300 delegates, numbers of distinguished guests gave keynote speeches: Danish Minister of Higher Education and Science Søren Pind, Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Prof. Wan Gang, Mayor of Shanghai Mr. Ying Yong, and the Chairman of Carlsberg Foundation Prof. Flemming Besenbacher. Two universities in Kazakhstan were invited to the forum: UIB and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University led by the Rector Mutanov Galimkair Mutanovich.

Initiated in 2008 and jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Municipal Government of Shanghai, the “Pujiang Innovation Forum” has been successfully held eight times, attracting nearly 700 high-ranking government officials, well-known scholars and senior executive from academic and business circles. Their in-depth discussion on hotspot issues about innovation both at home and abroad produced a number of valuable opinions for economic development and innovation.
